Where There’s a Will – There’s a Way!

Our recent digital print project at the Holmes Institute Surfers Paradise were customer supplied designs, with an edge and intent to represent the Gold Coast beach lifestyle.

The welcoming entry “GDAY” was a large format full background print applied direct to the surface on phototext medium, that required accurate alignment to the surfboards.

All additional fun wall murals – “Seas the Day”…”Do whatever floats your board”… “Where there’s a will there’s a wave”…” Bite off more than you can chew”…were also printed on phototext on our eco solvent 7 colour printer. As a leader in design and manufacturing, with a strong commitment to quality and innovation, Albert Smith chooses to use 3M graphic products, components and procedures.

The large 7.3M in length exit mural featuring 7 surfers was digitally printed on 3MIJ40-114 clear transparent film. Our challenge was to achieve the required depth of colour and the alignment of the surfboard’s on a transparent background.

Wave like wall graphics throughout the college were of frosted crystal vinyl, computer cut and applied by hand.

Holmes Institute and OHC logos were digital prints applied to polycarbonate acrylic and hand trimmed.
